Yes, using public transport alone it's possible to get to Fionnphort from London in about 11-12 hours. From Glasgow you can do it in under six hours.

Here's how the timings work:

  • Rail to Oban 3hrs 4mins
  • Ferry to Craignure 45 mins
  • Bus from Craignure to Fionnphort 1hr 10mins

The services are timed to connect with each other, echoing a better, vanished time.

Rail to Oban

Ferry to Craignure

Although this is a walk-on service you might want to book in the peak season.

Bus from Craignure to Fionnphort

From the ferry at Craignure, take the coach service to Fionnphort.

From the bus stop at the jetty walk back up fifty metres and take a left down the hill past the cemetery. Continue walking to the end of the cul-de-sac. Dungrianach is the last house on the left at the end, adjoining the house with the blue roof.
